I am inviting you to an interview for the position as studio assistant. Please select a time and date which works best for you.

Interviews can be in person at my studio, or hosted over Zoom, according to your preference.

Please make sure you are aware and are happy with the following:

  • This role offers you an opportunity to experience the world of Miniature painting. In this role you will have the opportunity to learn how to make paper, paint and gesso from scratch. You will learn how to work with gold and other raw materials, whilst working with the artist to prepare for a launch this coming September

  • The position is for four to eight days per month, (one to two days per week) during the months of January, February and potentially March. There is a possibility that this will turn into a longer-term role, with more days and hours available after March.

  • This role is better suited to someone who is seeking flexibility. In this instance, flexibility is defined by the number of days able to work per month and start/finish times on each day. For example – you can work between the hours of 10:00-14:00, or you can do 12:00 -17:00. Hours and days for every week will be coordinated between both of us and will be confirmed in advance on a weekly basis.

  • Occasionally, you may be working in the studio by yourself.

  • I can be flexible according to your timetable but am looking for someone who should able to work either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday during business hours (10:00 – 17:00).

  • You will be paid an hourly rate, in accordance with the London living wage.

  • Your role will vary but will primary be working with raw materials to make paint, gesso, gilded surfaces, and paper. This role involves working with wood, sanding, hand making gesso, gilding, egg tempera and some basic paint work.

I look forward to meeting you and wish you a happy new year until then. All the best,

Yasmin
